Werner Creutzfeldt Doctoral Scholarship 2022

At the general meeting of the DPC on 3^rd March 2023, Mr Kaan Cifcibasi from Munich was awarded the Werner Creutzfeldt Doctoral Scholarship 2022.

Mr Cifcibasi is investigating the contribution of neurons to immunosuppression in pancreatic cancer as part of his medical doctoral thesis in the working group of Prof. Dr Dr Ihsan Ekin Demir (Clinic and Polyclinic for Surgery, Klinikum rechts der Isar, Technical University of Munich).

The scholarship holder's project was selected by a jury from among numerous high-quality research projects. The €5,000 scholarship will enable Mr Cifcibasi to take advantage of a research stay with Prof. Brian M. Davis at the University of Pittsburgh to learn new methods of neuronal modulation.
