For our collagenase production we use the specially selected, non-genetically modified microorganism strain Clostridium histolyticum, which is characterised by high collagenase productivity.
The microorganisms are grown in an anaerobic culture. After fermentation, the cells are separated and the collagenase containing solution is obtained.
The collagenase containing solution is concentrated by means of ultrafiltration and is then filtered using a sterile process.
Aseptic freeze drying
After aseptic lyophilisation, the collagenase previously filtered using sterile techniques is ground up, and can, after release as an active pharmaceutical ingredient, be used in our collagenase ointments.
