History

The company was founded in 1927 by Julius Wolf and Alfred Voss in Hamburg under the name Nordmark-Werke AG. Nordmark moved to Uetersen/Moorrege near Hamburg in 1943. The company's core competency is the manufacture of pharmaceuticals with active biological ingredients. The company was sold in 1968 to BASF AG, which transferred its shares to Knoll AG in 1983. Nordmark became independent again in 2001 and operates under the name Nordmark Arzneimittel GmbH & Co. KG.
